Bluebalance introduces light in multiple frequencies missing from screens and man-made indoor light. These frequencies balance blue light coming from your computer screen, as the sun does at all hours of the day outdoors in nature.
Why is blue light dangerous?
Digital screens from computers and other devices emit high amounts of blue light compared to other frequencies.
On itโs own, blue light causes damage through free radical creation, circadian disruption, hormone dysregulation, and artificially increasing blood sugar levels.
Blue light is close to ultraviolet in energy level, being next to violet on the color spectrum.
High energy blue light (and UV light) are always balanced in nature with nearly equal (or higher) strength red and infrared light frequencies.
The results of these balancing effects are why red light therapy has become so popular in recent years.
Studies on the dangers of blue light

How Bluebalance protects you
Bluebalance uses up to 5 lights, 3 of which are infrared light (which is invisible to the human eye). These protect your eyes from blue light.
It is essentially a targeted red light therapy device for your eyes and face.
A 4th visible red light, which can be turned off or adjusted in brightness, adds to your options to reproduce the maximum protection effects found in red light from nature.
The 5th UV-A light, supports mood and sleep. UV-A is another frequency lacking from indoor environments. If you are afraid of UV light, it can be turned off. UV-A light is a natural part of sunlight outdoors during all hours of the day.
Infrared (805 nm, 830 nm, 850 nm) and Visible Red Light (660 nm)

Closed windows block most other frequencies of light, increasing the proportion of your blue light exposure
Ditch the blue blocking glasses and red screen filters
You could wear blue blocking glasses or use a red color filter on your screen, but this drastically reduces the visual appeal and fidelity of what you're viewing. Bluebalance restores the balance of blue and red light frequencies as found in nature from sunlight, letting you keep your screen's natural colors for media viewing or color-sensitive creative work.
Science and safety
A growing list of doctors including Jack Kruse and Max Gulhane recommend infrared light exposure for eye health, especially from natural sources like sunlight.
Bluebalance uses an intensity of light and frequencies found naturally in ambient outdoor sunlight. Every wild animal on earth (that isn't nocturnal) basks in similar light frequencies and intensities.
Bluebalance's Design
Bluebalance is designed to be as small and portable as possible, while still retaining the power to balance blue light. It features a precision machined textured aluminum body, polished stainless steel rear casing, and high quality glass lenses.
More color options
You will be able to choose your color/material closer to the ship date. Any color other than Pure Aluminum will have an additional cost ranging from $50-$300 more.
Current prototype
Final product will be even higher quality. Infrared LEDs are invisible to the human eye, so only the visible 660nm red led and optional 365nm UV-A led can be seen.
Development plan and timeline
Bluebalance is currently going through final testing before full scale manufacturing.
Our current shipping timeframe is around April 15th 2025.
The PCBAs are created for final production and the housing geometry and industrial design is complete.
We are validating device firmware and optimizing housing integrity before mass production.

Five 1 watt LEDs with glass lenses -Visible red light @ 660 nm -IR light @ 805 nm + 830 nm + 850 nm -UV-A light (black light) @ 365 nm
Aluminum and stainless steel case -85mm long x 21mm thick x 12mm tall (3.35" x 0.83" x 0.47") -Silicone screen mount included
USB-C powered, from laptop or other power source -Each of the 5 light frequencies can dimmed or turned on/off
Bluebalance uses near infrared and (optional for hormones) ultraviolet light which are invisible to the human eye. Please keep in mind there is only one low brightness visible red light, the others are invisible as they are infrared. Digital cameras can be used to verify the non-visible LEDs are functioning if desired. The device is powered via USB-C cable, conveniently allowing it to be powered from your laptop or computer.
